Quantum Hypnotherapy does not assume that it is necessary to create theories to explain hypnotherapy, but to model ways to use it so that people can enjoy their lives free of distress.

Quantum Hypnotherapy assumes that hypnosis is an everyday occurrence, and a normal part of our lives.  No one can deny the presence of daydreaming of trance-like states.  Relaxation for many people is spent drifting in and out of a mild trance-like state.  Meditation and daydreaming can be seen as self induced trance-like states, a lighter form or application of hypnotherapy.

Hypnotherapy in the Quantum field is about energy and holistic processes, and mind-body-brain communication.  As with Quantum Counselling, we do not believe we are disconnected at the neck, and cellular memory tells us that the mind exists throughout the body.  In all clinical matters, there are mental, physiological, and emotional components and resources all inextricably linked, and existing at different levels called meta-levels.  At times one of these states may be dominant or take precedence.  We need to get them working harmoniously, so the individual feels like they have a second skin.

Because of all these layers of mind-body-brain interaction and communication, we are very careful when using hypnotherapy to ameliorate distress.

If you have not experienced hypnotherapy before, then you will need to have some basic introductory sessions relating to relaxation and counseling before starting on specific situations.  Quantum Hypnotherapy is a great tool – but that is what it is – a tool – it is not magic.

Quantum Hypnotherapy is useful in situations relating to

  • The relief of pain
  • PTSD and acute traumatic stress
  • Critical incident stress
  • Anxiety, panic and OCD
  • Depression
  • Grief and sadness
  • Dissociation

Hypnotherapy is carried out in a normal, natural, relaxed and very useful state.  You may realize by now that people go into this state all the time.  With a hypnotherapist, you are guided into this state with a distinct beneficial purpose.

Try this technique:

Pick a spot on the wall just above eye level that you can stare at so that your eyes have to go up.
As you do this, just let your mind, nervous system and body relax.
Notice that in a matter of moments, as you focus on the single spot, you can begin to let your awareness expand outwards to the edges of your vision.
Notice that you see things in the periphery.
In fact you are sharply aware of things of the left side of your peripheral vision.
And now, the things on the right side of your peripheral vision, as you stay focused on that spot.
Now then, raise and center your eyes as if you are looking at the space between your eyebrows.  You may now be looking at a spot higher on the wall, or even on the ceiling.
After a couple of minutes move your eyes down and look straight ahead – and – notice your rate of breathing and the state of any of your muscles – you may be experiencing the first signs of relaxation.You may begin to experience satori – a momentary fusing of mind, brain and body:

  • Your mind may be free of distractions with attention focused on the present.
  • Emotional energy may be flowing freely, you may feel more motivated.
  • You may feel more relaxed, sensitive, energized.
  • You may have reached the hearing state and the right and left hemispheres of your brain may begin to synchronise.

NB: You can try the Clinical Hypnotherapy Breathing Exercise before this technique, and it may enhance the experience for you – making you focused and receptive.

Quantum Hypnotherapy is natural and normal and you remain in control as you do in all legitimate hypnotherapy.  You may experience a perception that something different has happened.
