Quantum Counselling is a generic, counselling modality available through Wattle House. The concept of the quantum refers to energy and the discreet use of specific techniques involving the whole person. Our belief at Wattle House is that a person is a complex individual and cannot be understood by an analysis of parts of the person alone. At Wattle House, counselling focuses on generative transformation, a self that arises when there is an integrated and resonant relationship between mind, body and brain, or if you like, experience, felt senses, and intellect. Each of these entities are organised at different levels, with the generative level occupying the highest level of transforming and healing.

Quantum Counselling addresses physical well being as a natural progression and focuses on the linkages between behaviour and health and wellness and the linkages between personal characteristics and health and wellness. Quantum Counselling is an integrated approach combining skill-building strategies with ecological interventions.

Quantum Counselling is available at Wattle House in the following formats: Expressive Therapies, Natural Therapy, Neurotherapy, Sandplay Therapy, Online Counselling, Visual Analog Therapy and Health Counselling.

Applications of health counselling includes:

  • Weight control and dieting issues
  • Addiction
  • Exercise and nutrition
  • Sleep
  • Sexual Health
  • Chronic Pain
  • Coping with illness

Quantum Counselling works towards a well-being perspective, facilitating your ability to know about what you can do to manage your own health and wellness.

Quantum Counsellng may benefit you, if you:

  • Are working to eliminate a health risk behaviour
  • Want to build a more positive lifestyle
  • Are searching for ways to cope with particular difficulties
  • Want to take responsibility for health and wellness outcomes rather than just seeing health solely as a matter of good luck or genetic endowment.

Quantum Counselling operates at three levels of prevention:

  1. Primary Prevention - Taking action to avoid ill health and promoting health and wellness
  2. Secondary Prevention - Taking action to identify and treat ill health with the aim of stopping or reversing the problem.
  3. Tertiary Prevention - Containing or retarding the damage of ill health and acting to rehabilitate.

Quantum Counselling is, therefore, about activities and practices believed to be healthy, for the purposes of prevention.

Quantum Counselling is also about remedy, and taking action to get well and be well. It includes receiving treatment from an appropriate therapist. Such health behaviours have a preventative function.

Quantum Counselling works across ten areas of health and wellness promoting a balance and life management through THE 5 HEALTH AND WELLNESS KEYS:

  • Resilience - developing the capacity to change, develop and recover from negative conditions.
  • Remembering - Sustaining in the mind, past, present and future resources and positive thoughts and feeling for developing strategies.
  • Reflectiveness - Strong meditational capacities which strengthen self-esteem and confidence.
  • Responsiveness - Developing your talent for overcoming imbalance and bouncing back from adversity
  • Resourcefulness - Realising the degree of creative and practical skills you already have for solving problems, and overcoming difficulty.

Quantum stands for:

Quantum Counselling involves more than just going into yourself. The practice involves internal world processes, within yourself as a person and external world processes, ecologically linking the self with the world. The application of Quantum Methodologies views mind, body and brain as a unified field, potent, and connected.

The aim of therapy in this field is balanced mindfulness - not being totally mind focussed, not being totally embodied, and not being too brain focused.

This connectedness produces change. A lack of balance produced problems. Balance produces mindful resonance, and a new state of consciousness.

The therapeutic journey begins as a journey with this end in mind.

You might, at this point, like to consider these questions:

  • Imagine you are detached and looking at your own gravestone. What message would you like it to display? Take a little time to write this mesage.
  • Does the message have a connected feel of experience, felt sense and intellect? Does it reflect your state of mind, how you think and feel and your physical state?
  • Is this a motto for your life?
